Brief
The Pender Harbour Food Bank was in need of a modern, responsive website and refreshed logo that would make its mission, donation process, and volunteer services instantly accessible and engaging to the Sunshine Coast community. The objectives were to establish clear brand recognition with a new logo and slogan. Simplify site navigation so donors, volunteers, and visitors can find information in 2 clicks or fewer. Integrate a secure, user‑friendly donation form. Highlight volunteer opportunities, news, and FAQs.
process
1. Research & Discovery: Conducted stakeholder interviews to clarify goals, audience needs, and existing pain points. Performed competitive analysis of other local non‑profit sites and branding.
2. Strategy & Wireframing: Defined sitemap and user flows for donors, volunteers, and partners. Created low‑fidelity wireframes in Figma focusing on intuitive donation and volunteer paths.
3. Visual Design & Branding: Developed a clean, heart‑forward logo lockup (horizontal, vertical, favicon) in Illustrator. Established a fresh colour palette, typography system, and brand guidelines. Designed homepage mockups, “Ways to Help” and “FAQ” pages, and template for news updates.
4. Prototype & Testing: Built a dynamic Wix website. Ran usability sessions with 5 community members; iterated based on feedback.
5. Implementation & Launch: Handed off annotated assets and style guide for brand and site. Oversaw QA, content entry, and donor‑form integration. Coordinated soft launch and provided on‑call support during rollout.
