Brief
This project goal was to create a commercial ad for Spotify. Aimed to the Generation Z audience, whom represent their second largest user group of 26%. The campaign tagline of "Music for every moment" is meant to increase the Generation Z engagement on popular platforms such as YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.
Process
I chose Spotify due to it's popularity and fun branding. I wanted a strong narrative showcasing the early awkward but exciting crush moments everyone experiences. For inspiration and brand styling I looked into their past commercial ads and guidelines. Spotify's visuals stand out with how they lean into the playful and lighter sides of situations.
The footage of a young couple reflects the target audience, leaning into a song to aid in the emotional connection. "Coffee" by Miguel, which shares the theme of love. With the post production, I focused on the timing of the music to the quick flow of the edits. I knew they would be the lynchpin in keeping engagement. I consulted and worked with my colleague Lisa Metz (Choreographer and Dancer) to maintain the seamless movements and interactions between the actors and transitions.
